Beginners Mindfulness Meditation classes

Learn step by step instructions on how to reduce stress, decrease pain and be present with mind and body. Bring your sitting gear and a blanket. This is a 4-level series; you must have attended at least three of the previous series for each new one. E-mail or phone (519) 376-3797 to attend.
 
Beginners Level I: Concentration - January 10-31, 2012

  • Learn posture
  • Focus on the breath
  • One pointed focus meditation
  • Body relaxation and touch sensation

 
Beginners Level II: Clarity (pre-requisite Level I) – February 7-28, 2012

  • Learn how to detach from the mind
  • Feeling sensations in the body
  • Images with the mind
  • Observing activities in the body to promote relaxation

 
Beginners Level III: Working with Pain (pre-requisite Level II) - March 6-27, 2012

  • Understanding pain
  • Observing pain
  • Equanimity with pain
  • Changing nature of pain

 
Beginners Level IV: Focus In (pre-requisite Level III) – April 3-24, 2012

  • Putting it all together
  • Mastering the skills
  • Carrying mindfulness into everyday life
